The Charity Bike Buildathon is a bike-building charity team activity that turns teamwork into real results. Working with a set budget and a ticking clock, your team builds, decorates, and pitches a kids’ bike, then donates it to a child in need.
What Is Charity Bike Buildathon
The Charity Bike Buildathon is a corporate charitable activity that pairs the fun of a hands on build with the satisfaction of a real donation. Teams are given a budget to “shop” for bike parts and decorations at Outback’s in room store, then race to assemble and personalize a bike around a theme, all while staying on budget and passing quality inspections.
Guided by a professional host, teams pitch their finished bike to the group like a marketing team pitching a product, complete with a name, a backstory, and a bit of showmanship.

Charity Bike Buildathon Agenda
Welcome and Team Formation
The event will begin with a welcome from your event host, who will assist in organizing the group into teams. Following this, participants will receive a detailed briefing on the activity.
Charity Bike Buildathon Launch
The event host will give instructions on Charity Bike Buildathon. Each team will be responsible for creating a functional children’s bike, decorating it around a theme, and creating a marketing presentation including a visual and spoken element.
Build Your Bike
Teams will build their bike, begin their decorating and prepare their marketing presentation. Teams will have a budget they may use at the Outback “store” to purchase items like tools and decorations. Teams must pass inspections before building their bike.
Marketing Presentations
Participants will gather to experience each team’s marketing presentation. Hosts will score presentations and bike quality.
Charity Presentation
When available, the recipient charity will offer a brief presentation about the organization and offer thanks to the participants for their generous donation. If the charity cannot be present at the event, your event host will conduct the presentation on the charity’s behalf.
Wrap Up, Recognition and Photo Op
Teams will reconvene to exchange experiences and review their efforts. The event host will facilitate discussions on key takeaways and lessons learned, culminating in the announcement of the winning team. Winning teams will be awarded Outback Team Building medals. The event will wrap up with congratulations all around to commemorate a successful event.
