What Is Wheelchairs for Charity
Wheelchairs for Charity combines teamwork and compassion in an unforgettable activity that gives back to the community. Your group will work together to build wheelchairs from scratch, completing creative tasks and challenges along the way to earn the parts and tools needed for assembly.
As the wheelchairs come together, so does your team—strengthening connections, enhancing communication, and fostering a shared sense of purpose. The experience culminates in a heartfelt donation ceremony where the completed wheelchairs are gifted to individuals or organizations, creating a powerful moment of impact.
This activity not only energizes your team but also highlights the value of collaboration and generosity, leaving participants with a sense of accomplishment and pride in making a difference.
Wheelchairs for Charity Agenda
Welcome and Team Formation
The event will begin with a welcome from your event host, who will assist in organizing the group into teams. Following this, participants will receive a detailed briefing on the activity.
Wheelchairs for Charity Launch
Teams will work together to participate in a series of learning experiences geared towards increasing awareness of the different abilities of our friends, families, colleagues, and people in your community experience. The opening of the event provides an opportunity for people to share stories prior to getting started on the learning experience.
Awareness-Based Challenges
Teams will engage in simulation challenges designed to reflect various abilities, including cognitive, vision, and hearing. Teams will receive necessary supplies and have a set time to complete each challenge. All teams will tackle the same challenge simultaneously. Afterward, the Host will lead a discussion, encouraging participants to share their experiences and insights.
Wheelchair-Based Challenges
Teams will perform safety checks on their wheelchairs. Once completed, they will navigate through challenges that simulate real-world experiences of wheelchair users, such as transfers.
Charity Presentation
When available, the recipient charity will offer a brief presentation about the organization and offer thanks to the participants for their generous donation. If the charity cannot be present at the event, your event host will conduct the presentation on the charity’s behalf.

What happens if we have inclement weather on the day of our activity? (For outdoor activities)
We appreciate that weather is not always predictable, so we have a back-up plan in the event of poor weather. We can switch your event to our indoor app-based Team Pursuit event at no extra charge. You would need to arrange a backup space for the activity, and we need notice of 2 hours to make the switch.
What if I need to change the date of my event?
We understand that plans can change, so please reach out as early as possible, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs. Date changes may incur a change fee, please reach out to your Sales Engagement Consultant to discuss further.
What if I need to make a last-minute change to my activity?
Depending on what the change is, we recommend discussing all changes with your dedicated Event Manager to see if we can accommodate the change.
